new patient exam

New Patient Exam

Your first step is a New Patient Exam. Dr. Ferrari will perform a comprehensive oral examination, along with digital X-rays. After thorough evaluation, he will go over his findings with you and answer any questions you may have. Dr. Ferrari will discuss treatment with you and explain your options.

gentle tooth extraction

Gentle Tooth Extractions

Dr. Ferrari is very experienced in performing nontraumatic tooth extractions. He uses special techniques that cause minimal damage to the surrounding tissues. Additionally, he employs a simple bone grafting procedure to enable the tooth socket to heal optimally and to allow for the future placement of a dental implant.

bone grafting

Bone Grafting to Restore Lost Bone

Bone grafting is a procedure used to replace lost bone. This procedure may be necessary following a tooth extraction, in case of severe bone loss as a result of periodontitis or when more bone is needed to support an implant. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Ferrari is an expert in bone grafting and tissue regeneration. He uses state-of-the-art synthetic bone graft material that stimulates the body to regrow healthy real bone. All of his techniques and materials are designed to cause the minimum amount of trauma.

Implant complication treatment

Treatment for Complications with Dental Implants

If you are experiencing difficulty with your dental implants, schedule an appointment with us as soon as possible. Dr. Ferrari is highly experienced and knowledgeable regarding implants. He will be able to determine the cause of the trouble and take the time to explain your treatment options.

Though less common now due to technological advances, complications with dental implants can occur. Some of the causes are improper placement, poor materials or lack of sufficient bone tissue to initially support them. Symptoms of implant malfunction may include a feeling that your implants are loose or wobbly, difficulty or pain when chewing, or swelling and redness.

crown lengthening

Functional Crown Lengthening for Teeth that are too Short for a Cap or Filling

The crown is the part of the tooth above the gum line that you can see. However, sometimes some of the crown is buried below the gum line, which can cause difficulties for fillings below the gum line or for putting on a cap. In these cases, Dr. Ferrari uses a procedure to remove some of the gum and bone tissue. Dr. Ferrari is highly skilled and experienced in performing this surgery. As there are other treatment options available that could be better, he will evaluate your situation and recommend the best course of action.

oral cancer screening

Oral Cancer Screening and Biopsies

Oral cancer screening is a preventative measure that is included when you arrive for a New Patient Exam. Dr. Ferrari may perform a biopsy if he detects suspect oral tissue. He uses the biopsy to help determine whether there are abnormal cells that indicate oral cancer.

tongue tie lip tie

Frenectomies—For Lip and Tongue Tie

Tongue and Lip-Tie: When the tissue connecting the mouth and the tongue or lip, called the frenum, is too strong or too short, this results in restricted movement of the tongue or lips. This occurs frequently in newborn babies and can cause difficulties in breast feeding. Older children and adults can experience various symptoms, such as speech and swallowing difficulties, problems playing instruments or issues with oral hygiene. Dr. Ferrari removes the excess tissue using straightforward, non-traumatic treatment.
